Port San Antonio

Port San Antonio is a thriving aerospace complex and international logistics platform.  The 1,880 acre (760 hectares) industrial hub is master-planned, platted and zoned for commercial and business development.  Port San Antonio’s geographic and strategic advantages are significant.

The Port is located at the center of the NAFTA trade corridor on IH35 connecting Mexico, the U.S. and Canada. IH10 links Port San Antonio to the Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach, Houston, New Orleans and Miami. Served by two Class I Railroads, the Union Pacific (UP) and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF).

The economic and demographic vitality of the region brings importance to our market as the State of Texas is second only to California in population growth.  The seven state region of northern Mexico, immediately south of San Antonio, is the industrial heart of Mexico’s internationalized automotive industry.

The population within one day’s drive of San Antonio is 13 million.*

A two day drive will reach a market of over 90 million people.*

*Based on a truck driving 60 miles per hour, in a 12 hour day.

AEROSPACE

The Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul sector of the aerospace industry is the core of the industrial complex at Port San Antonio. Global companies such as The Boeing Company, Lockheed-Martin and Standard Aero occupy over 9.5 million square feet of hangar and assembly space.

These companies employ thousands of highly skilled workers. Also located at the Port is a campus of St. Philip’s College, a two-year technical school, which trains skilled workers for the aerospace, automotive and metal-working industries.

FOREIGN-TRADE ZONE

Port San Antonio’s entire site is covered by a General Purpose Foreign-Trade Zone (#80-10) designation, allowing our tenants the option of activation at any of the Port’s sites or existing buildings. Foreign-Trade Zones are considered outside the territory of the U.S. for customs purposes. Therefore, goods admitted in a designated Foreign-Trade Zone are not subject to formal U.S. Customs entries or payment of duties while in the zone.

LOGISTICS PLATFORM

Kelly Field (SKF) is just now opening to air cargo. The uncongested airfield, the 11,500 foot (3,505 meter) runway, ample ramp space and a new air cargo terminal make Port San Antonio an attractive cargo destination.

The East Kelly Railport is served by two Class I railroads the Union Pacific (UP) and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF). The Railport is adjacent to the UP classification yard which is the destination for most of the local industry traffic.

Federal Inspection Services will be provided on site by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency in early 2008.

The Port offers available warehouse and office/flex space for immediate occupancy, as well as rail and non-rail sites for lease throughout the Port.
