Trade Agreements

Congress is currently stalled on the three pending trade agreements of Colombia, South Korea, and Panama.  Everyday that pending agreements are delayed costs manufacturers $2 million in taxes and duties to trade with non-partner countries. The Alliance urges our government officials to bring the pending agreements back for a vote.  Now is the time for the United States to reach out and bring in more partner countries in an effort to bolster this rising surplus.  Since 2001, the US congress has approved free trade agreements with 14 countries.  Export growth to trade partners with FTAs implemented between 2001 and 2005 is twice as fast as US export growth to the world.
